submissions guidelines the print shop project selects short stories and pairs each one with a graphic/fine artist who is then commissioned to create the book's design. the books will then be converted to PDF and made available for free download on the spitfire press website. these downloads can then be brought to your local print shop and bound into free books or a hand-bound version can be ordered from spitfire press. selected writers and artists will be listed on the site with bios & links. they will also receive a hand-bound edition of their chapbook. we will be selecting 5 stories this time around. Guidelines: deadline: 31 august 2004 writing: short stories of any length and in any genre will be reviewed. artwork: artists should send a link to their portfolio or a packaged/zipped set of files. we are especially interested in graphic artists, illustrators and collage, but any artwork can be submitted. if need be, we can assist fine artists with the technical aspects of creating digital and print work. if you are selected, you will be given a copy of the story you are to work on and one month [max] to develop your design. interested in submitting as both an artist and writer? no problem. guidleines are the same if you're interested in working on someone else's work. if you want to create a combined work of your own, submit the story and art portfolio together. in this case, you must also include a description of your vision for the work. questions? ready to submit? comments? |
